Cameroon Beadwork

Decorative beaded caps and chief hats with a frontal face are popular in all of Africa, but originated in this region. Elaborate bead work on clothing, and decorative objects (such as this giant lizard) are effectively replicated in paper. When you design your colorful hat,  notice the bright primary and secondary colors. Your art piece will be beautiful enough to wear and show off.

African fabrics African Fabrics

As early as 3000 BC,  handsome African fabrics were made. Mali is famous for its mud cloth and the Ashanti in Ghana made the Adkinkra cloth. All use a resist technique, which means you paint a paste on for the design and then paint your color over it. Then you wash it all out and see the beautiful results. You will use your imagination, design skills, color sense and spatial planning to make these unique African fabrics, which you can wear.

Paper Chains

Easy and inexpensive to make, these paper chains can be cut to border bulletin boards, for an African holiday tree, to use as ideas for wrapping paper, etc. All feature authentic African motifs.
