Inca Pan Pipes
The Incas had perfected the panpipe
which they made out of bird bones, condor quills,
hollow reeds or clay. Touring groups today have
brought the haunting sound of the Andes to the
world with variations of this ancient flute. Once
you have made your six-pipe flute you can practice
making music in the Ande style.

Jade
Masks
Jade is found all over the world. The green jade
of the New World was prized. Masks of the precious
stones were made to be displayed but not worn. Mosaics
of cut stone have been replicated here in paper and
salt dough in these half-masks. Display yours in
a place where it can be admired.

Andean Hats
All regions in the Inca empire
had to wear a hat design of their region. They
were simple to elaborate designs. This band is
printed paper copied from a handsome woven band
with yarn tassels |

The Mola
The Cuna Indian women of the
San Blas Islands near Panama make many-layered
applique clothing, banners and pillows tops called
molas (mohlahs). Our paper layered designs capture
the beauty of the mola. Your mola can hang on a
wall and may even be fine enough to frame. |
